Nadine Barmania

Nadine received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) from Trent University in 1988, graduating on the Dean’s Honour List.  In second year, Nadine received the prestigious Gadfly prize in Philosophy.

Nadine attended law school at the University of Toronto graduating with an LLB in 1991.  She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1993.


Nadine began her Family Law practice at a boutique commercial litigation firm.  She later joined a large Bay Street firm where she practiced both Personal Injury and Family Law for many years. 

In 2007, Ismail and Nadine established Barmania-Lawyers with the goal of providing accessible and cost-efficient representation to individuals.

Nadine’s Family Law practice includes property division, support, child custody and access and divorce.   She also negotiates marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements and separation agreements. Nadine is regularly involved in negotiations and mediations and appears at all levels of court. 

Nadine represents both men and women and is experienced and familiar with the concerns of client’s from a variety of background.  She provides clear and straight-forward advice to clients on the legal issues and in helping clients work through the non-legal issues arising from changes to their family situation.

Nadine also has years of experience in handling Personal Injury and other insurance claims including motor vehicle accidents, medical negligence, slip and fall, occupier liability matters.   She provides clear and straight-forward advice to clients and their families on the complex legal issues and personal challenges which follow serious accidents.

Nadine's goal is to ensure that all clients receive a fair resolution whether through negotiation, mediation or trial.


Nadine is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Ontario Bar Association, Toronto Lawyers Association. Nadine is an active and supportive member of Trent alumni.
